Found in northern Western Australia to northen Northern Territory including Melville Island in monsoonal rainforest thickets, littoral rainforests, streambank vegetation, paperbark swamps, humid areas in open woodlands and on the landward side of mangroves as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or ocasional lithophyte with erect, fusiform to cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 10, along the upper half of the stem, erect to recurved, distichous, alternate, sessile, narrowly ovate leaves that blooms in the late summer through winter on a terminal, 8 to 18″ [20 to 50 cm] long, 2 to 20 flowered inflorescence
