Dendrobium guibertii

Found in northern Thailand as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect, and long stems with each node half covered by a white sheath and carrying 3 to 5, towards the apex, elliptic or ovate, persistent, acute leaves that blooms in the later summer.

This species has often been cited as a synonym of D densiflorum but this one differs in the much longer stems,
and flower in later summer flowering inflorescence.

The erose margined petals, the deep orange lip with lighter coloured petals, the lip that surrounds the column completely and the angular hole created by the lip. D griffithianum is also similar, especially the flowers, but the plant of D griffithianum has thick pseudobulbs while D guibertii has elongate canes.
