Pecteilis hawkesiana x habenaria myriotricha

Found in Myanmar and Thailand in mixed deciduous and bamboo forests at elevations around 125 to 800 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with ovoid tubers carrying 2 to 6, prostrate, ovate, rounded or obtuse apically, glossy dark green leaves held in a basal rosette that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect, terminal, 2 to 17 flowered inflorescence with 4 or more acute sheaths and lanceolate, acute or acuminate floral bracts carrying showy, slightly fragrant flowers.

This species has been known commonly as P sagarikii but recently Kumar discovered that this species name was described first by King & Pantling as Habenaria hawkesiana so the name has changed.
