Phalaenopsis bellina ‘Blue’ is a rare colour form of the Bornean species Phal. bellina, distinguished by cool-toned violet‑blue washes on the petals rather than the usual magenta‑violet. It’s genetically still bellina, just a selected colour variant, and it grows beautifully in warm, humid climate.

What “Blue” Means in Phalaenopsis bellina
The “Blue” form is not truly blue—it produces bluish‑violet splashes on the petals rather than the typical warm purple.
It is a stable colour form, not a hybrid.
Flowers are thick, waxy, and strongly citrus‑fragrant, just like standard bellina.
The colour tends to intensify with:
strong filtered light
warm temperatures
high humidity
mature plants with multiple growths

Ideal Conditions
Warm temps: 24–32°C year‑round
High humidity: 70–90%
Bright filtered light (shadehouse or under 50–70% shadecloth)
Good airflow
Moist but airy media (sphagnum + bark, or mounted if watered daily)

🌸 Flowering Behaviour
Blooms late spring through summer, sometimes into early autumn.
Reblooms from the same spike, so never cut green spikes.
Mature plants can bloom multiple times per year.
