Phalaenopsis hieroglyphica f. flava is the yellow, pigment‑reduced form of hieroglyphica, but current taxonomy treats it as a synonym rather than a formally accepted variety. It still circulates widely in cultivation, and growers use flava to describe plants with yellow‑green flowers and faint or absent “glyph” markings.

Native to Philippines (Polillo, Palawan, Luzon, Mindanao).
Warm-growing epiphyte
Pendant to semi-pendant growth; inflorescences can rebloom for years if left green.
Ideal conditions
Light: Shaded, bright, filtered—similar to lueddemanniana or schilleriana.
Temp: 24–32°C days; 20–24°C nights
Humidity: 70–90% with good airflow.
Water: Keep evenly moist; avoid full drying.
Media: Chunky bark + sphagnum, or mount if you can maintain moisture.
Fertiliser: Light, frequent feeding.
