Rhynchostylis gigantea ‘Orange’
Native to Thailand, this species has fantastic foxtail-like flower spikes that arch over the pot with 15 to 50 flowers. These plants usually flower in january or february and can fflower for 2 to 3 months.

Individual flowers are 2–3 cm, thick, waxy, and long‑lasting.
Flowers open nearly all at once, creating a full, showy display.
Strong, sweet, spicy fragrance typical of gigantea.
Blooming Habit
Compact vandaceous plant with thick, leathery leaves.
Leaves often arch gracefully and can reach 25–40 cm.
Roots are thick, strong, and adapted to high humidity and bright light.
Slow to medium growth rate, but extremely long‑lived.
Ideal: 28–35°C days, 22–26°C nights.
Heat improves flowering and colour saturation.
Bright shade to filtered sun.
Can take morning sun and dappled midday light.
Too little light = no flowers.
High humidity encourages strong root growth.
Daily watering in hot weather.
Allow roots to dry slightly between waterings.
Mounted or basket-grown plants perform exceptionally well.
Airflow to prevent leaf spotting.
Strong airflow also encourages root health.
Fertiliser
Light but frequent feeding during active growth.
Reduce feeding slightly in the cooler months.
